Youth

Lifeline

Christian youth are under enormous pressure today! They live in a world which is constantly at odds with the truth of Scripture and the principles we strive to teach in our homes. Youth ministry may be the most challenging aspect of modern church life.

Lifeline - our self-chosen name - represents what we want to provide our youth as they contend for the faith on their school campus, in their neighborhoods, and among their friends.

At OHBC, the primary goal of our Lifeline ministry is to strengthen the faith of the believing youth. We trust in the power of the Holy Spirit to shape the lives of our youth as we strive to teach and exhort them in godliness. Our primary emphasis will be upon discipling the committed youth of our church and growing them deeper in their walk of faith. As they grow stronger in their convictions, we desire to train them to reach out to their unbelieving friends on their campus and in their neighborhoods.

On Sunday afternoons our youth attend worship services with the adults, engaging in worship and the study of God’s Word. On Wednesday nights we have a separate gathering time just for the youth - a time to sharpen iron with one another and be mutually encouraged in the daily challenges of campus life.
